Congratulations on your offer of admission to the University of Toronto Mississauga. We look forward to welcoming you as a UTM Eagle this year!
If you have received an invitation to the ACE@UTM program as a condition of your offer of admission, the information found here will help assist you in preparing to begin your studies.
Academic Culture & English (ACE@UTM) is a fee-based English language and transition program for students who have received a conditional offer of admission UTM. In addition to providing English language instruction, ACE@UTM is designed to help you develop communication, research and university level study skills. These acquired skills will lead toward greater success in your university studies.
The English course component of the ACE@UTM program is Academic English Level 60 offered by the University of Toronto's School of Continuing Studies English Language Program. Successful completion of this course with a minimum final grade of ‘B’ will meet the English language requirement of the University of Toronto. Academic English Level 60 focuses on developing language as a tool for use in academic environments. Your classes will take a theme-based integrated skills approach with attention to the development of four skill areas: reading, writing, listening, and speaking.
Students in the ACE@UTM program also have access to additional support programming and social activities, to aide in their transition to university level academic studies in Canada, and student life at UTM.
For more information, please select the program you have been invited to register for below, as stated in your offer of admission letter. Please note that space in both programs is limited and not guaranteed. Register early to save your spot!
