Ellen is a doctoral candidate in the Department of Anthropology at the University of Toronto STG. She holds a BSc in Anthropology from the University of Calgary, as well as an MA in Archaeology from the University of Lethbridge. She is a zooarchaeologist, and her current research centers on human-animal relations and ritual sacrifice along the North Coast of Peru at the site of Pampa La Cruz. More specifically, she aims to look at contributing to the reconstruction of past camelid diets within mass sacrificial contexts to further understand the status of camelids throughout the Late Intermediate Period.
