Project Management Community of Practice

Do you manage projects, develop business plans, or drive process improvements? Eager to expand your project skills and share your tips with others? Hope to connect with colleagues, build your network, and collaborate on projects to shape our campus’s future?

This Community of Practice (CoP) is for you─and for anyone on your team at UTM who loves to learn about strategies for organizational innovation, efficiency, and continuous improvement.

Launched in July 2023, the community comes together six times a year for meetings tailored to your project priorities. Problem-solving workshops. Professional development seminars. Presentations by industry leaders. This CoP is your home for it all. Welcome.

How We Started

This community of practice believes in the power of collaboration. And that’s how we got started.

Our vision came together after months of planning in early 2023, thanks to the collective effort of Jason Kwok in Facilities Management and Planning, Anthony Betts in Information and Instructional Technology Services, and Anuar Rodrigues and Jennifer Reid-Burrell in the Project Management Office.

The same collaborative spirit animates our rotational model of leadership: we’ll welcome a new community leader every year, alongside community advocates from our three founding units.

Jennifer Reid-Burrell serves as the community leader for 2023-24, alongside community advocates Ammena Ajaz and Andy Semine from I&ITS, Brian Ingoldsby and Sandra Ngan from the PMO, and Randy Seto from Facilities Management and Planning. Together, they support the planning, coordination, and promotion of CoP events.
