UTM Community Marketplace gets a facelift
They say one person’s trash is another person’s treasure. And finding those treasures just got easier with updates to UTM’s Community Marketplace.
Originally launched in September 2024, UTM’s Community Marketplace is a digital platform exclusively for UTM faculty, staff and librarians to donate and claim new or gently used items. A joint effort of the Sustainability Office and Information & Instructional Technology Services (I&ITS), the Marketplace promotes sustainability by keeping good condition items out of the landfill. Plus, it helps cut costs by reducing the number of new items being purchased and the amount of paid storage needed for previously discarded items. Since its inception, over 80 items have been donated and listed.
What's new?
- Fresh new look: A clean, modern and minimal interface that makes browsing and posting items easier.
- Lightning fast: Faster loading times and smoother browsing so you can find items quickly.
- Mobile-friendly: Access the Marketplace seamlessly from any device — phone, tablet or desktop.
- Work from home support: Updated Terms of Use allows for items to be taken home to improve your home office setup.
If you like bargain and treasure hunting, you’ll love the new Marketplace. Have a look today and check back frequently as new items are posted daily. And don’t forget to post your unwanted items so your colleagues can find the perfect item for free too!
