Changes coming to PowerBI, SharePoint alerts and Microsoft Project

Microsoft has announced some major updates that will be rolled out in late 2025 and into 2026. And while that might seem far away, the ripple effects start now. 

Power BI integration within SharePoint

Power BI integration within SharePoint lists and libraries officially retires December 11, 2025. Reports previously created using the ‘Visualize the List’ or ‘Visualize the Library’ features will become permanently unavailable. It’s important to take action now and recreate any critical reports to avoid data loss. Learn more 

SharePoint alerts

The SharePoint Alerts feature officially retires in July 2026. But the expiration feature was already gradually activated this past October. Get a head start by converting your SharePoint alerts to Power Automate flows. Learn more 

Microsoft Project Online

Microsoft Project Online officially retires on September 30, 2026. The recommended alternative is Microsoft Planner. Existing projects will not automatically migrate. You can prepare for the transition now by assessing current usage and identifying gaps between Project Online and Planner. Learn more
