Zain Nassrullah Awarded The W.T. Gray Scholarship in Microbiology

We are delighted to announce that Zain Nassrullah has been awarded The W.T. Gray Scholarship in Microbiology in recognition of his exceptional achievements in the field of biology, particularly his outstanding performance in BIO370Y. This prestigious scholarship is a testament to Zain's dedication, hard work, and passion for microbiology.

I began my undergraduate degree at UTM in 2020, where I have since then had the pleasure of working under the mentorship of many talented faculty and graduate students across various life sciences disciplines. In particular, I completed my undergraduate thesis project under the supervision of Professor Marcus Dillon where I studied the virulence of the plant pathogenic bacterium Xanthomonas. My time here at UTM has allowed me to explore the exciting fields of bioinformatics and genomics, and I hope to take all the lessons I learned with me as I start medical school at McMaster University in the fall.

We extend our heartfelt congratulations to Zain Nassrullah on this well-deserved recognition and wish him every success in his future endeavors in  medical studies at McMaster University.
