Ever since my first year, I was set on pursuing Biotechnology. I have always been interested in

exploring how biological systems and phenomena can be applied to solve challenges in areas ranging from health to agriculture. During my undergraduate years, I conducted research in epigenetics and structural biology in the Currie Lab (UTM) and Ikura Lab (UHN), respectively. I also explored my interests in science communication through an internship at the Acquired Brain Injury Lab (UHN) and in sustainability as a Reach Alliance Researcher. This last experience allowed me to travel to Kenya to investigate a community-led, carbon credit-funded mangrove conservation project and has inspired me to apply my Biotechnology degree in the sustainability space.
