Holiday Camp for Kids

U of T Mississauga (UTM) is pleased to present a series of fun and educational on-demand videos for the kids of our alumni, faculty, staff and friends, to enjoy this holiday season.

Appropriate for children 6-10 years old (parental supervision may be required for some activities). 

Holiday Camp video topics range from exploring animals in the neighbourhood and taking a trip through the galaxy, to workshops on card crafting and decorative gnome making, to storytelling and even yoga for kids! This eclectic mix of on-demand videos features UTM faculty, staff and alumni who have volunteered to share their passions and interests. See below for more details on each video.

WILDLIFE OUTSIDE YOUR WINDOW: RECOGNIZING BIRDS IN OUR NEIGHBOURHOOD

It is getting colder and darker, but there are still birds outside. Learn how to find and recognize birds that stick around your neighbourhood during winter! And what makes a woodpecker a woodpecker, or a blue jay a blue jay? Discover how to use birds’ appearances and sounds to tell them apart.

READING AND 3D PRINTING WITH THE UTM LIBRARY

THE CHANGING SEASONS - TRADITIONAL STORYTELLING 

Listen and learn with Cat Criger as he provides a lighthearted look, from an Indigenous philosophical perspective, at the changing seasons, sharing humour about rabbits nesting in trees while nurturing land-based learning. This video is presented in the tradition of old style storytelling and is suitable for all ages.
