Our Research Sign-up System allows potential participants to sign up for studies via a secure website. There are opportunities for students participating for course credit as well as for individuals interested in paid participation. A UTORid and password is needed for course credit. Paid participants can sign up by creating an account on the system, which will record their contact information.
Participating for course credit
All students enrolled in courses participating in "Experiments for Course Credit' are able to participate in experiments or complete substitute assignments to earn credit towards their final grade.
When using the sign-up system, please make sure to enroll in the course on the sign-up system and allocate the earned credits toward the course. Otherwise, your earned credit might not be counted toward your final grade.
Each hour-long experiment will count 0.67% toward your final grade, and a 30-minute experiment is worth 0.33% . Note that some experiments may be longer than an hour (e.g. 1.5, 2 or 3 hours).
The last day for students to participate in an experiment is the last day of the term (click here for dates).
Paid Participants
Individuals wishing to participate in studies for financial compensation can create a participant account and sign up for paid experiments on the same secure website. Participants will need to provide their name and contact information.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Students participating for course credit should NOT receive financial compensation unless specified otherwise.
