Staying informed about how to handle personal information is more important than ever—especially at a large institution like U of T. That’s why two new training modules have been added to the Security Awareness Program, available to all faculty and staff.

These modules are a helpful way to refresh your understanding of privacy policies and best practices at the university. Each one takes about 15 minutes to complete and can be accessed at your own pace.

What's Covered:

Privacy @UofT – Part 1: Understanding Privacy

  • What counts as personal information
  • Privacy laws that apply to U of T
  • How privacy is managed and overseen at the university

Privacy @UofT – Part 2: Protecting Personal Information

  • How to provide proper notice and get consent
  • When it’s appropriate to share personal information
  • What to do in case of an emergency or privacy incident

Engaging with these modules is an easy way to stay current on privacy and information security practices. They also serve as a useful refresher, whether you're new to U of T or just want to stay up to date.
