Tarkan Ahmad Dahi Wins the Jufiyah Rajan Memorial Scholarship in Biology

The Department of Biology at University of Toronto Mississauga is proud to announce that Tarkan Ahmad Dahi has been awarded the Jufiyah Rajan Memorial Scholarship in Biology. Tarkan was selected by the faculty for having obtained the highest overall average in BIO152 and BIO153.

I am very honored to have been chosen to receive the Jufiyah Rajan Memorial Scholarship, and I would like to begin by thanking the donors of the award. To begin, I would like to extend my utmost gratitude to my friends, peers, and the staff here at UTM for supporting me throughout all the trials and tribulations I faced in my first year here. I would like to extend a special feeling of gratitude for my family, as they are the reason for all that I have accomplished in my life. From deciding to move to Canada to give me a better opportunity in life and still continuing to support me as I advance down my path in life. Although sometimes I hesitate, make mistakes, stumble, they are always there to guide me and help me expand my path to guide me towards success in both academics and my personal life. I chose to study here at UTM because it offered me an amazing deal so that I could stay close with my family while also pursue a world-class education. I am now in my second year here, on my way to completing a Molecular Biology specialist with a minor in Chemistry, and although it has not always been easy, I do not regret coming here at all. In the future I hope to pursue further studies in the medical sciences, either directly as a practitioner or as a researcher searching for methods to improve our physical and mental health. Once again, I would like to thank everyone for their wonderful support and I hope to put it forward to good use, so that I can one day be able to help others as you all have helped me!
