What if we've ignored a valuable and abundant resources that could help us end global warming? In fact, we've been flushing it down the toilet—poo, poop, crap, feces, dung—whatever you call it, represents a tremendous resource that can be harnessed and converted into clean energy.

Waste-to-energy has a powerful potential to spark an energy revolution to help us deal with climate change and energy insecurity. At this Classes without Quizzes, learn how UTM alumnus Fahad Tariq (BCom 2010) is converting waste into clean energy to create positive change in developing countries.

Fahad Tariq is the founder & CEO of Shift, a revolutionary non-profit that applies biomimicry to convert animal waste into clean energy in developing countries. Fahad has received numerous accolades for his global leadership including the prestigious Ascend Rising Star Award and Ivey Emerging Leaders Award. Fahad holds a BCom from the University of Toronto, an MBA from the Ivey Business School at Western University, and is a Chartered Professional Accountant and Chartered Accountant.
