I started my career as an engineering analyst in oil and gas, then worked in various roles for disparate industries, and eventually pivoted into business insights for a fintech. I currently am loving what I do.
Discussing my experience with you will provide insight into the current state of data analytics as a career. In turn, I’m eager to hear about what you learn in class. Tech’s rapid change mandates dialogue between industry and educational institutes, so that neither party falls behind.

Experience
- Calum is a business insights analyst for a Point-of-Sale software company for retail pharmacy.
- In his current role as Senior Portfolio Data Analyst, he gathers reporting requirements for internal stakeholders, and then builds dashboards that summarize key business performance indicators. He also automates repetitative processes and trains other analysts to leverage new solutions.
- He has a background in engineering.
- Calum was born in India and grew up in Qatar. He came to Canada as a university student.
