The Ian Orchard Student Initiatives Fund (IOSIF) was created in 2010 in honour of Ian Orchard's service to the University of Toronto Mississauga as Vice-President and Principal (2002-2010). The IOSIF's objective is to assist student groups across campus fund projects and events which look to enhance the student experience and foster a sense of community on campus.
The IOSIF is open to university recognized student groups and organizations and will consider requests for activities like:

Festivals celebrating the arts and student talent (music, theatre, art, etc) -
Academic Initiatives
Case/academic competitions held by various student groups -
Service Learning
Alternative Spring Break -
Diversity initiatives

Community Development Projects
Funding proposals must demonstrate how funding will:
- Promote the importance of student engagement beyond the classroom in enhancing the overall student experience.
- Contribute and foster a sense of community on the U of T Mississauga campus.
- Strengthen the image and reputation of U of T Mississauga.
- Be of interest and service to a significant number of U of T Mississauga students.
Successful applications may be provided with full or partial funding of their overall request, typically in the range of $250-$1000. Groups and organizations can reapply on a yearly basis, with a maximum of two consecutive years of funding available to any particular group, organization, event or activity. Funding will not be provided for general operating expenses of student groups and organizations - the funds are for specific events and activities.
All applications should only reflect programming and/or events for the upcoming academic year. No late applications will be considered and will be returned to the primary contact.
