This draft Strategic Framework is also available as a downloadable PDF.
Informed by careful thought and extensive consultation, this framework still represents only a working draft. To strengthen its content with additional perspectives, UTM plans on hosting a series of focused conversations in fall 2021: with student groups, with Indigenous partners, with governance bodies, with administrative committees, with academic departments, with external stakeholders. Hosted by UTM’s Vice-President and Principal Alexandra Gillespie, in collaboration with other leaders across campus, these conversations will complement our community reflection forums held earlier in May.
Where the forums invited our community to share the values that matter most to them, the conversations will focus on bringing these values together:
- Has this draft framework represented priorities with which you identify?
- Do you see your contributions reflected in its commitments?
- Will its language help you articulate our distinct role in the community?
- Does its narrative describe a campus of which you feel proud?
These questions will guide conversations in the spirit of openness and improvement, soliciting responses that will inform an updated version of the framework, scheduled for completion before 21 January 2022.
Concurrently, from August through December 2021, the draft framework will remain accessible to encourage widespread feedback: please share constructive comments and suggested revisions using the "Share your feedback" button below.
