Alejandro García Magos is a Lecturer of Political Science at the University of Toronto, where he earned his PhD. He holds an MA in Political Science from the University of Calgary and a BA in Economics from the Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico City. His research interests lie in democracy and authoritarianism, with a particular focus on the Spanish-speaking world. His works in this field have been featured in the Oxford Research Encyclopedia and leading newspapers in Latin America, including El Universal in Mexico, Clarín in Argentina, and Folha de São Paulo in Brazil. He has also contributed to top media outlets such as Letras Libres, Este País, Le Monde Diplomatique, openDemocracy, and The Mexico Institute of the Wilson Center. Alejandro serves as Senior Editor and regularly shares his opinions in Global Brief Magazine.
