Faisal Mirza, B.A., M.A. (U of T)  LL.B. (Osgoode Hall Law School), is an instructor in National Security and the Law [POL 487HS]. 

He is a criminal trial and appeal lawyer with extensive experience in national security cases.

Faisal argues cases of national importance frequently at the Ontario Court of Appeal and Supreme Court of Canada. He has also worked on several major trials and appeals that have impacted the law of Charter of Rights; criminal procedure; jury instructions; bail and sentencing.

To improve the quality of judicial analysis of key legal issues and jury trial instructions, he authored the Criminal Jury Charge Practice.  He has also published articles on mandatory minimum jail sentences, systemic racism and racial profiling.
