Orange Shirt Day 2025
The National Day for Truth and Reconciliation—also known as Orange Shirt Day—on September 30th is a day to honour survivors, remember the children who never returned home, and recognize the deep and lasting impact of residential schools. Wearing orange is more than symbolic; it challenges us to reflect on Canada's past and to commit to a future built on respect, healing, and justice.
Reconciliation is not done just through words, but through action. To help support that work, the R-BLISS team has compiled an Indigenous Content and Resource List for Orange Shirt Day. The list highlights books, articles, videos, and Indigenous-owned businesses, offering opportunities for learning, reflection, and meaningful action. These resources remind us that reconciliation doesn't only happen on September 30th, but it’s something we need to work towards every day of the year.
