Post-graduation plans: I will be attending the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education (OISE) at the University of Toronto in the fall for the Masters of Teaching Program. I am looking forward to developing all the necessary skills to be an educator and eventually make a difference in the world.
Your most memorable time at UTM: My most memorable time at UTM was working in different leadership roles with the Centre for Student Engagement. It is difficult to pick one particular role since they were all so valuable and allowed me to gain the best experiences and great memories. Whether it be my supervisors, fellow student staff, or students, I am lucky to have been able to work with all of them and develop some life-long friendships.
What is the most important thing you learned at UTM: The most important thing I learned at UTM is to face any challenge with an open mind. I learned the importance of being gritty and thinking with a growth mindset when faced with any challenge. Most importantly, I learned how to navigate difficult situations, reflect on my mistakes, and grow to my fullest potential.
Inspirational message to the Class of 2020: Wow, we did it! Our undergraduate experience is one we will remember forever, but what is perhaps even more important is what we will do beyond UTM. Take all the wonderful experiences and skills you have gained at UTM and apply them to your greatest passions. Don’t settle for anything less because you are amazing and will do extraordinary things!
