About Me
I graduated with an HBSc. in Genetics and Economics in 2004. Upon graduation, I was uncertain about my future career choices as the direct options related to my field of study were not what I wanted to have a career in. Given the case, through countless discussions with pivotal people and trial and error, I discovered a career path in accounting. I eventually obtained my Certified Professional Accountant (CPA) designation and built my career in the accounting field, specializing in internal audit.
As a mentor, I enjoy talking to my mentees about my broad area of studies and how it led to a totally different career path from what I had imagined when I first started university. I like to ask questions, guide the mentee in their life/career choices, and provide insights into the working world, where many of the key competencies are soft skills that are difficult to practice and refine. The knowledge that I can share with my mentees includes providing guidance on picking or transitioning to a career path, developing people skills, and navigating the issues and conflicts that occur in the workplace. With the mentorship program, I also want to learn from my mentee on all the new, trending and interesting things that are happening in the world today. I am interested in working with both students and recent graduates.

- Peter works as the Manager of Financial Information and Processing Support (FIPS) at UTM.
- In his current role, Peter works with departments at UTM to identify and develop business solutions, provides financial advice on policies and procedures, and manages a team of financial assistant that assist departments with financial processing
- Previously, he worked as a Senior Auditor, Senior Business Officer, Business Administrator and Laboratory Technician.
