About Me
I am interested in being a mentor to give back to UofT and the community in which I grew up. My path was not a straight line and I think that I can be helpful to students who are trying to determine which path to take and how they might get there.
I am open to anyone who thinks that I might be able to help, but I think my experience may resonate best with those of a similar background. I am first generation Canadian (India/England) who was very active in playing sports – ball hockey, tennis, squash and basketball but also had a desire (and pressure) to succeed academically and ultimately with my career. My undergrad focussed on the sciences and math with a few business classes mixed in (accounting and economics) and then an MBA (finance) at Canisius College in Buffalo.
I believe a big part of the value I can bring is sharing experiences. The path to success is never a straight-line and I had several turns and set-backs along the way, all of which helped me get to where I am today.
I am hopeful that my mentee will feel like they have a sounding board for their thoughts and goals, and a supporter to help them minimize risk, whether real or perceived.
