Faculty expertise includes all literary forms; their historical, social and material contexts; literary and performance theory; theatre history; and creative writing. Congratulations to Charleen Sye and Shalini Nanayakkara for being the two runner ups for the 2015-16 Harold Sonny Ladoo prize for their submissions "The Well Boy" and "An Orange Kiss"
 
Congratulations to Professor Terry Robinson for winning the Annibel Jenkins Prize for the Best Article in Performance and Theatre Studies and the Percy G. Adams Prize for the Best Article on an Eighteenth-Century Subject for her article "Becoming Somebody: Refashioning the Body Politic in Mary Robinson's Nobody".
 
Congratulations to Mehak Kawatra for being selected as a 2017 Gordon Cressy Student Leadership Award winner! Mehak has demonstrated great leadership potential and a commitment to making the U of T community a great place.
 
Congratulations to Professor Jacob Gallagher Ross, who has received the American Theatre and Drama Society’s Vera Mowry Roberts Award for the best article of the year (for “Mediating the Method” published in Theatre Survey in 2015) - AND, with his colleague Miriam Felton-Dansky, the American Society for Theater Research’s 2016 Collaborative Research Award.
 
Congratulations to Professor Daniel Wright for winning the 2016 John Charles Polanyi Prize for Literature. This prestigious prize is awarded by the Government of Ontario for outstanding researchers in the early stages of their careers.
 
Congratulations to Professor Melissa Gniadek for winning the Richard Beale Davis Prize for the best essay published in the journal Early American Literature in 2015.
