We are proud to announce that seven undergraduate students from UTMBiology won the 2023 The University of Toronto Student Leadership Award (UTSLA).
The University of Toronto Student Leadership Award continues U of T’s long-standing tradition of recognizing outstanding student leadership, volunteer service, and commitment to the university. This award recognizes students in their final year of study, with a minimum cumulative GPA (CGPA) of 2.70
The International Journal of Molecular Sciences published Dr. Jimena Leyria's paper on Crosstalk between Nutrition, Insulin, Juvenile Hormone, and Ecdysteroid Signaling in the Classical Insect Model, Rhodnius prolixus.

We are excited to announce that Ernest Hamzaj won The Pynn Family Paleontology Award, for having achieved high academic standing and for their interest in the field of paleontology.
Ernest Hamzaj is a 3rd year undergraduate student at the University of Toronto Mississauga.
The Department of Cell and Systems Biology, University of Toronto announced their 2022 Graduate Awards.
We are excited to announce that the following graduate students from UTM Biology were among the winners:
Jiashu Liu, PhD student, Dr. Baohua Liu Supervisor, won a Zoology International Scholarship.
UTM OVPR announced that Dr. Xiaolin Chou, Postdoctoral Fellow in Dr. Baohua Liu's Lab has won a 2022 UTM Postdoctoral Fellowship Award. The UTM Research Council, with a final determination by the Vice-Principal Research, the Associate Vice-Principal, Research, the Vice-Principal Academic and Dean, and the Vice-President and Principal, ranked Dr. Chou's application as topmost in a very strong applicant pool.
In the summer of 2023, UTM Biology will be offering a half credit summer field course at the Churchill Northern Studies Centre, Manitoba.
