Our Staff

The University of Toronto Mississauga Campus Safety consists of 14 officers. There are 10 Constables, 4 Corporals, 6 building patrollers, 1 Assistant Manager, 1 Administrative Assistant, 1 Staff Sergeant and 1 Manager. Officers are sworn as Special Constables as set out in the Ontario Police Services Act and possess powers of arrest, search and seizure while engaged in their duties at UTM.

Officers are on duty 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and patrol the campus by means of a marked patrol car, bicycles and on foot. 

Our Mandate

The University of Toronto Campus Safety is dedicated to creating and maintaining a safe and secure environment for students, staff, faculty and visitors.

In fulfilling this purpose, the University safety staff work in partnership with the community in developing programs and conducting activities to promote safety and security on campus as follows:

  • personal safety
  • protection of property
  • conflict reslolution
  • maintenance of public order
  • community service and referral
  • emergency response assistance
  • crime prevention and detection
  • enforcement of the criminal code and selected provincial and municipal statutes and university policies and regulations

In meeeting this mandate, the actions of the University safety staff are guided by the following principles and values:
