AWARD DEPARTMENT YEAR FINANCIAL NEED CONDITIONS OF AWARD AWARD SELECTION
Paul W. Fox Scholarship General Completion of Year 3 No Awarded to the best all-round FULL-TIME student at the end of YEAR 3 at UofT Mississauga. The student must have achieved high academic standing and have extensive participation in student activities both on and off campus.

The Ramseger-Rai Award Science Completion of Year I or Year 2 No

Awarded to a full-time UofT Mississauga student who has attained high academic standing and has extensive involvement in community-based volunteer activies.

Preference will be given to students who have completed 5.0 credits in the preceding fall-winter session at UofT Mississauga.

U of T Mississauga Residence Community Scholarships Residence Any No Awarded to full-time residence students on the basis of involvement in community and residence activities. Academic merit will also be considered. In-course awards are conditional upon returning to full-time studies and living in residence at U of T Mississauga.

Mississauga Board of Trade Award in Commerce and Management Commerce/Management Completion of Year 1 Yes Awarded to full-time U of T Mississauga students with demonstrated financial need who have attained high academic standing and have extensive involvement in community based volunteer activities.

Preference will be given to students who are residents of Mississauga. Recipients must be Canadian Citizens or Permanent Residents.

UTM Student Recognition Award of Achievement General Year 2 and above No The Student Recognition of Achievement is awarded based on a student's academic achievement as well as campus and/or community involvement.

Snil “Sunny” Sahanan Memorial Scholarship Anthropology Year 2 and above Yes Awarded to a UofT Mississauga student enrolled in an Anthropology Specialist, Major or Minor program. The student should have a record of social activism and is required to write an essay on "the importance of non-violence in internntional relations and world peace."

The Rotary Club of Mississauga West "Service Above Self" Rotary Bursary General Year 2 and above Yes Awarded to second year or above U of T Mississauga students on the basis of financial need. Academic merit and volunteer community service in Mississauga will be taken into consideration.

Robert Rawlings Scholarship General Any Yes

To be awarded to one or more UTM undergraduate students participating in a U of T study abroad or independently arranged research opportunity that is approved and recognized by UTM where courses/research will be accredited to the student’s U of T degree. Students must complete the program application process and receive approval to participate in order to be considered. Preference is given to students in good academic standing and in financial need.

Actual participation in the study abroad, student exchange or independently arranged research opportunity is a requirement for this award.

Sobanski-Armstrong Scholarship General Final Year in 2015-16 (Graduated in June 2016) Yes Awarded to an undergraduate student who is applying to Medical School in Canada or entering a graduate program in a health science, or science discipline with a health application.  Academic merit and financial will be considered.

The Harold Sonny Ladoo Book Prize for Creative Writing English & Drama Any No To be awarded to a U of T Mississauga student, either full-time or part-time, in memory of Harold Sonny Ladoo who published his first novel in 1972 whilst an undergraduate at Erindale College and whose promising writing career was tragically cut short by his early death in 1973. Competitors may submit one or more of the following: i) a long poem OR a group of short poems; ii) a short story OR a group of short stories; iii) a novel OR scheme of a novel with approximately 15,000 words of the novel itself; iv)a play. NO previously published composition will be accepted.

Environment Canada Scholarship for Academic Excellence Geography Year 2 (9.0 - 14.0 credits) No To be awarded to a U of T Mississauga student enrolled in a major or specialist in an Environment program at the end of second year. This student must demonstrate academic excellence and exceptional leadership in environment related courses and community work.

JoAnna Dutka Award English Final Year in 2016-17 (Graduated in June 2017) Yes To be awarded to students at UTM intending to pursue graduate work in English on the basis of financial need.  Academic merit will also be considered as well as proof of application to at least one university with the intent to study in a M.A. Program in English.

The Chartered Accountants Scholarship Management Year 2 or 3 No To be awarded to full-time students who have attained high academic standing and have demonstrated distinctive abilities through extra-curricular activities and/or employment.

The United Way of Peel Region Award General Any Yes Awarded to a student on the basis of financial need. Community involvement will also be considered. Recipients of the award must be Peel residents.

U of T Mississauga Alumni Association Scholarship General Year 4 or have completed at least 14.0 credits No This award is available to full-time and part-time students who have made academic and/or social contributions to UTM which have enhanced the UTM student experience. The student must have a CGPA of 2.7 or higher to be considered.

Some scholarships recognize academic excellence and students are nominated by an academic department. Other scholarships are determined by extracurricular and/or volunteer activities, along with academic standing and/or financial need.
