Jason Tome is an Assistant Professor (Teaching Stream) in the Department of Management at the University of Toronto Mississauga. For the last decade, Jason has been teaching and developing accounting, finance, general business, and strategy courses at several Canadian Universities.  

Prior to teaching, Jason worked in the finance industry, having positions within investment banking, sales and trading, wealth management, and consulting. As an Associate Advisor at Wells Fargo, Jason was responsible for developing expert financial advice and strategic insights for small and medium sized enterprises regarding mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, capital raising, and other complex transactions. As a Derivatives Trader at the Royal Bank of Canada, Jason worked with institutional clients, including investment firms, hedge funds, and corporations, as well as individual clients to develop customized derivatives solutions and sophisticated investment strategies. Currently, in addition to teaching, Jason is the Chief Investment Officer of a private investment management firm focused on alternative investments including private equity, real estate, and derivatives.

Jason earned the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) designation from the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst Association, the Chartered Investment Manager (CIM) designation from the Canadian Securities Institute, a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from McMaster University with a double major in Finance and Strategic Business Valuations, and a Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) from Toronto Metropolitan University with a double major in Finance and Economics.
