Nicole Wickens

Nicole is a third-year forensic anthropology specialist with an earth sciences minor, planning to pursue a master’s in bioarchaeology with a focus on human osteology. Her interests include paleopathology, infectious diseases, and the integration of bioarchaeological and paleoethnobotanical methods, such as stable isotope and dental calculus analysis, to study human diet and migration patterns. Nicole was particularly drawn to the RLEA’s experimental approach to understanding the conditions needed to form starch spherulites and is excited to contribute to and learn from the lab’s cutting-edge projects.
