Census Data for Your Community


Summary:

This session, presented by Paul Laffin from Statistics Canada, will provide you with a snapshot of the housing, household and overall demographic portrait from the 2021 Census of Population results.  More importantly, there will be a demonstration on how to find the data that you require for your residential planning and development projects. The session will also provide some additional Statistics Canada resources on the current housing situation in Canada.

Presenter:

Paul Laffin is a seasoned professional with nearly 10 years of experience working at Statistics Canada. For the last three years, Paul has been serving as a Data Ambassador where he has been responsible for developing and managing relationships with external partners, including academia, private sector, government, and international organizations.  In this role, Paul's primary objective is to ensure that Statistics Canada's data is accessible and understandable to the community. To achieve this goal, he reaches out to different community members to understand their data needs and helps develops solutions. Paul also manages various federal, provincial government, and international NGO data requests, ensuring that they are met with the highest level of accuracy and timeliness.
