This issue is now resolved.  Thank you for your patience and cooperation.

Speech attendant service at 905-569-4455 and voicemail system are not fully functional.  Please use Online Directory at www.utm.utoronto.ca to lookup department and individual phone numbers.

This message will be updated as more information becomes available.

I+TS Services at UTSG continues to monitor the email system for further virus attacks, as we experienced over the past two days, and is putting in place measures to reduce our exposure to such attacks.

Investigating - We are receiving reports of a potential virus message circulating on campus with the subject line “You have received a new fax” which includes an attachment. The issue is currently under investigation.

Users should NOT open the attachment. If you have, please contact UTM Help Desk at 905-828-5344.

Rule of thumb, if an email looks suspicious and/or you are unsure about it, contact UTM Help Desk for assistance.

Please be advised that earlier today some members of UofT may have received a virus was circulating via email.

Most commonly, people would have received an email with the subject heading “Transaction Complete” with a .zip attachment.

To provide enhanced support for essential antivirus, Operating System and application software updates, UTM IITS will be remotely installing software on all domain-enabled Windows workstations effective Monday, January 19th.  Please note that this will not, in any way, allow IITS enhanced rights over the content of your workstation, nor access to any of your data.
