Non-Degree & Visiting Students

Sunburst Over Terrence Donnelly Complex

UTM will consider applications from students wishing to study as a Non-Degree or a Visiting Student from an accredited institution.

Non-Degree Student

A Non-Degree student is someone who is not currently working towards an undergrduate degree or similar program, and has no afiliation with any academic institution or association. They are simply interested to taking courses at UTM purely out of interest or to upgrade their academic record.

As a Non-Degree student, you must still still meet course prerequisites and admission will be based on your entire post-secondary academic record and your most recent annual grade point average (GPA). The courses you enrol in are credit-courses but will not count towards any degree.

For more information, including application procedures, please contact our office directly and identify your interest in being a Non-Degree Student.

If you are 65 or older, you may qualify as a Non-Degree Senior Citizen Student and be exempted from traditional admission requirements. Please visit our Senior Citizen Student page for details.

Visiting Student

A Visiting Student is someone who is currently working towards an undergraduate degree at an accredited North American university, wishing to take courses at UTM, and has permission (often referred to a Letter of Permission) from their home institution to transfer their credit(s) back to their their home institution.
