Blending globally aligned programming with locally relevant experience, the University of Toronto Mississauga (UTM) offers inspirational academics and leading-edge facilities in a magnificent natural setting.

Entry into the Computer Science, Mathematics, and Statistics admission category is gained directly from high school. Applicants who have completed any previous post-secondary studies, including U of T internal transfers, are not eligible to apply.

General Requirements

Every program requires a different set of prerequisite courses and will need to be satisfied to meet minimum admission requirements. Please review these prerequisites on our Programs pages.

Program Admission Prerequisites

If you do not have the program prerequisite courses fulfilled within an Ontario/Canadian curriculum, you may present international equivalents. See below our International Admission equivalencies chart.

International Admission Requirements

Further Requirements

  • Program prerequisite courses must be presented at the senior high school or post-secondary level, including English with a minimum grade of 70%.
  • Competitive students normally have a solid 'B' average (3.0 on a 4.0 scale / 73%) in their post-secondary studies, provided they include sufficient academic content.
  • Admission consideration is often based on your post-secondary cumulative grade point average (CGPA), although we will review your entire academic record, including your secondary school studies.
  • Official and complete transcripts for all secondary and post-secondary studies, as well as notarized English translations of all documents issued in a language other than English or French are required as part of your application.
  • Applicants admitted with upper year standing may be eligible to apply to a specific program of study (POSt). In order to do so, they will need to meet all POSt criteria as listed in the Academic Calendar.

Transfer Credits

If your offer of admission to the university requires a transfer credit application, you must submit the application before you begin your studies at U of T Mississauga. After applying, proceed to our Transfer Credits page for specific instructions on how to submit your transfer credit application.

Canadian College-Specific Requirements

Beyond the requirements listed at the top of this page, if you are transferring from a Canadian College, please also note the following:

  • Must have completed a minimum of 5 academic credits if studying at an Ontario College of Applied Arts and Technology.
  • We accept Grade 12 U courses or equivalent, or two full college semesters of an academic subject to meet prerequisites. One semester of math must include Calculus to be equivalent to our Calculus & Vectors (MCV4U) requirement. Statistics or college preparation math is not sufficient to meet the math requirements.
  • The maximum number of granted transfer credits varies based on years of completed full-time study and course eligibility. Specific guidelines are available on our College and University Transfer page.

Canadian University-Specific Requirements

Beyond the requirements listed at the top of this page, if you are transferring from a Canadian University, please also note the following:

  • We accept Grade 12 U courses or equivalent, or half-credit university-level courses as prerequisites.
  • Applicants to limited enrolment programs must also present the required first-year university courses.
  • We grant a maximum of 10.0 transfer credits (towards a 20.0 credit U of T degree) to students who have previous undergraduate studies at another accredited university.
  • Students who have completed a three- or four-year undergraduate degree are eligible for a maximum of 5.0 transfer credits and are considered to be entering a second degree. These students may not continue in a similar program area as their previous degree studies, and are not eligible to apply to Computer Science, Mathematics and Statistics, Management (BBA), or Commerce (BCom) programs.
  • We will only award transfer credits for successfully completed courses with a minimum grade of C- or 60%.

Transfer Explorer is the university’s planning tool. Check the eligibility of credits earned at another Canadian institution, including all divisions of U of T, for transfer to (or within) the University of Toronto.
