Welcome to the Job Shadow Program at UTM

Job shadow program - meet with your future

What is the Job Shadow Program?

The Job Shadow Program at UTM is an opportunity that will enable students to test drive a career by visiting a professional (job shadow host) in their workplace. Job shadowing will help students gain insight into an industry or career, better understand how classroom learning can be applied to work outside of academia and learn more about the skills and educational requirements needed to follow their career interests.

In order to participate, you must complete UTM’s Career Exploration 101 online module.* Students from all campuses are welcome to participate. Once you have done the preparation, you’ll receive an email with instructions for participating in the job shadow program.

Job shadow placements are primarily provided by GTA-West employers and community members and the duration of the placement is customized to best accommodate both student and host needs. The duration can be anywhere from half-day, full-day or longer.
