Cloning of the cDNA, localization, and physiological effects of FGLamide-related allostatins in the blood-gorging bug, Rhodnius prolixus

Meet ZandawalaThe final HSP of 2011 recognizes the work of Ph.D. student Meet Zandawala and two recently graduated BIO481 students (Yuliya Lytvyn and Daria Taiakina), all from the Orchard lab.

Their paper recently appeared in Insect Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. This paper describes the first cloned sequence and expression of an allostatin critical in regulating the expression of juvenile growth hormone in Rhodnius prolixus.

Great work, Orchard Lab!
