Dr. Aravind Harikumar

Dr. Aravind Harikumar presenting at KSR on drones, remote sensing data and machine learning

Kate Brown

The Koffler Scientific Reserve at Joker's Hill (KSR) is hosting a free public webinar on Thursday, February 25 from 7:00-8:30 PM EST. Join us on Zoom for Dr. Aravind Harikumar's talk "Mapping Vegetation Traits using Drone-based Remote Sensing Time-series Data"! You will have an opportunity to ask your burning biology and drone-related questions after Aravind's talk during a Q&A session!

This webinar aims to provide audience members with an overview of drone-based, remote sensing data sampling in forests in Southern Ontario/Quebec, how to go from controlling a drone to processing the environmental data, and how machine-learning can help us perform plant-based research including stress

monitoring, agriculture, forestry, and genomic selection studies.

Suitable for university/college students, researchers, and members of the general public! For those interested in computer science, machine learning, drones and other Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs), biology, chemistry, forestry, and more, you won't want to miss the Koffler Scientific Reserve's first public webinar!
