224° left calm - - yes - Butterfly started at 6 m, circled up to 60 m, soared straight for awhile, then glided down over a tree to 20 m.  A second D. plexippus was also in the thermal.
273 D. plexippus 10:05 160 m soar circle climb 229° - 049° 1.0 m/s - yes - I lost sight of the butterfly as it rapidity gained altitude while circling and soaring.

215° - 187° 0.2 m/s - yes - Butterfly was flapping at 4 m when in encountered a thermal switched to circling and soaring. It rapidly gained altitude but stopped circling at 100 m and began gliding down.  Several other D. plexippus had a similar flight.  The butterflies would fly by low, then start soaring in circles in thermals generated by the runway, then brake off circling at about 100 m and start gliding back down.
275 D. plexippus 10:17 3 m flap straight level,
climb
226° - - - - - - Butterfly started at 1 m and began to climb as it approached the trees.  Two more D. plexippus were seen, another one flying low and one that was foraging.
