Leela McKinnon is a 3rd year Ph.D. student in Evolutionary Anthropology. She completed her Bachelor of Arts degree at Penn State University's Schreyer Honors College with a major in Anthropology and minors in Linguistics and Italian. Leela's research interests include the evolution of human sleep, and how threat perception and social networks shape sleep patterns. Her current research focuses on the sleep and circadian rhythms of indigenous populations in Guatemala and Mexico.
