Established by the UTM Office of the Vice-Principal, Research (OVPR), the Summer Undergraduate Research Fair* celebrates the research conducted by undergraduate students over the summer. Students from the Research Opportunity Program, recipients of the Undergraduate Student Research Awards and recipients of the University of Toronto Excellence Awards share their work in the humanities, the social sciences and the sciences through oral and poster presentations.

This year's event will be held in person, with oral and poster presentations.

Register to Present Your Research

Please note that this event will take place in person on the UTM campus. There is no option to present virtually.

  • Registration deadline: Monday, July 18, 2022
  • Deadline for printing posters free of charge: Monday, August 8, 2022 at 4:00 PM (firm deadline)

Please read the following information carefully before registering:

  1. Registration is open to undergraduate students conducting a Summer 2022 research project under the supervision of a UTM faculty researcher.

  2. You are allowed one poster per registration. If your poster includes co-presenters, the first author should register on behalf of the team and fill out the information of all co-presenters. We strongly recommend that groups select only one member of the team to present; however, if you do present as a group, the group should have no more than three presenters in total.

  3. If you would prefer to deliver an oral presentation, please select this option in the registration form. Our team will contact you, during the week of July 18, to let you know if you have been selected.

Oral Presentations:

  • Will not include a poster.
  • Will consist of one speaker only.
  • Will be three minutes (with an additional 2 minutes for questions).
  • Will include only 1 static slide (no animations, transitions, moving graphics, sound, or video).

Note that if you are not selected for an oral presentation, you will present a poster.

Registration for General Participation

Faculty, librarians, staff, postdoctoral fellows, graduate students, and undergradute students are all welcome to attend. Please note that registration is now closed. Contact our team with any questions.

Poster Printing

You can print your poster free of charge at the UTM Print and Copy Centre! The printing deadline is Monday, August 8, 2022 at 4:00 PM (firm deadline).

Please read the Poster Printing Parameters carefully before submitting your poster for printing.

Contact Allison or Anwar directly (copy.utm@utoronto.ca) for questions related to printing your poster. Please DO NOT contact the Office of the Vice-Principal, Research (OVPR) with any printing questions.
