Annual Research Prize Symposium

 

Register for the 2023 Annual Research Prize Symposium!

The UTM Annual Research Prizes were established by the Office of the Vice-Principal, Research and UTM’s Research Council in 2016 to recognize outstanding contributions of early career researchers and scholars in the Humanities, Sciences and Social Sciences.
 


The recipients for the 2023 Annual Research Prizes at U of T Mississauga are the following:

Research Prize in the Humanities

Professor Nicole Charles from the Department of Historical Studies was selected for her contributions and interdisciplinary approach to questions and issues of care, affect, healing, gendered and racialized risk, technoscience, and coloniality in the Black Atlantic. 
 

Research Prize in the Social Sciences

Professor David Samson from the Department of Anthropology was selected for his contributions to the study of biological anthropology, primatology, and human evolution, as well as sleep and cognition.
 

Research Prize in the Sciences

Professor Lauren Schroeder from the Department of Anthropology was selected for her contributions to the study of biological anthropology, palaeoanthropology, hominin variability, evolutionary theory, and quantitative genetics. 

 


2023 Research Prize Symposium

All three of the 2023 Research Prize Recipients will be celebrated at the Annual Research Prize Symposium
