Common Research Areas Research Recovery

OCCUPANCY BOOKING

               In line with the University of Toronto policies on research recovery, we will limit the number of people at any given time in all common research areas at UTM, which include the growth facilities (research greenhouse and growth chamber & freezer rooms), core facilities (cell and tissue culture, cell and molecular biology, and imaging) and autoclave rooms. The number of people allowed inside these rooms was strategically planned together with the Facilities Management and Planning and a decision was made based on the area of the space and density of equipment.  Please see the table below for the maximum number of people allowed in each facility.  Room booking is available on the core facility online booking system to ensure that a room is available for your use when you are at UTM as well as for contact tracing purposes. For users of the core facilities, you should also book the specific equipment you will be using.  Autoclaves should also be booked online.  We suggest that you book the facility at least 12 h in advance if possible, using this link: https://app.utm.utoronto.ca/rbs/bioequipment/BookAResource.action

              For those who do not have access to core facility online booking system, please send your  UTORid, full name, lab name and position in the lab to xin.zhao@utoronto.ca, we will authorize your access ASAP.

ETIQUETTE INSIDE COMMON RESEARCH AREAS

• Wear mask or face coverings when indoors.  We encourage wearing gloves when handling equipment.

• Wash hands regularly.  Hand wash soap or hand sanitizers are available.  

• Disinfect all surfaces with 70% (v/v) ethanol before and after use.

• Please follow traffic signs such as entrance and exit.

• Maintain 2 m distance at all times.
