Akaila earned an HBA in 2017 from UTM, where she studied English, Professional Writing, and Communications and Classics. She came back to UTM after several years in the private sector, most recently working as assistant to the Chair in the Department of Visual Studies. Now, in the Office of the Vice-President and Principal, Akaila organizes major events, coordinates meetings and messages, and supports projects in line with priorities of the Strategic Framework.
