Giving Back & Social Distancing

Volunteering is a great way to give back and develop skills. Given current events and the call to practice social distancing, many wonder how they can continue to give their time and volunteer without gathering. Read below on how some of the community partners we collaborate and partner with are seeking support without in-person volunteering. 

How can you help?

Please see below a list of organizations that provide essential services to the community. These organizations are still open and are looking for support! 

Eden Food for Change (EFFC)

All food banks are considered essential services. You can support EFFC in the following ways:

  • Donation towards food purchases can be made online here
  • Food donations are still needed, especially nonperishable items. Please you can see a list of current most needed food items here

Food 4 Kids

All food banks are considered essential services. You can support F4K in the following ways:

  • Food4Kids will be providing gift cards to families registered in their program by mail. Donate here to support their initiative.  

Kids Help Phone 

Kids Help Phone provides kids with the space and time to talk, and volunteers are able to help ensure young people across Canada can have the support they need, at any time. Click here to learn more about how you can help!  

SPECTRA Helpline

Spectra Helpline, a partner with the CSE, provies opportunities for people of all ages to reach out and talk to someone when they need it most. They even have a texting helpline for people who are more comfortable texting!  Find out how you can support them through volunteering with their helpline here.
