Viewing and Re-marking Final Exams

If you would like to review your final exam, you may do so by submitting a request to us via email.

Viewing Process:

  • Email us at socscr.utm@utoronto.ca your full name, student number and the relevant course.
  • Once we receive your request, you will be contacted to set up a 20 min in person meeting during which you will be able to view your exam.
  • Since all final SOC exams are restricted, you will not be allowed to copy, make notes or take pictures of the exam.
  • Exam viewing can be requested no sooner than after the SDF exams have ended. For Fall session it would be in February and for Winter session in April.
  • You can only request to view an exam if it was written in the last 6 months.

Re-Read Process:

  • If after viewing your exam you decide to request a re-read, you will need to email your request to socscr.utm@utoronto.ca providing substantive reasons why you believe a re-read is warranted. Please make sure to include your name, student number and course code.
  • Re-read requests can only be submitted withing 6 months of the final exam day.
  • The processing time can take up to approximately 4 weeks.
  • The instructor has the right to refuse to re-read an exam.
  • Re-read requests may result in your mark going up, down or remain unchanged. The decision is final and no further steps can be taken.
