Call for Project Submissions

Why should you participate?

The Research Opportunity Program is a great place to further your research goals, while helping undergraduate students obtain valuable research experience.  It's an opportunity for you to highlight the areas of research that you are focusing on, and to showcase those areas to the University of Toronto Mississauga community.

Over the course of your project, you will have the ability to work with undergraduate students who are assisting with your research, and at the same time, they are gaining valuable skills and knowledge that can be applied to careers or future graduate studies.

Faculty members who have participated in the ROP have found it enormously rewarding and helpful, both in getting useful work done, and in working one-on-one with their undergraduate student(s). So why should you participate you ask? Why not!

The Office of the Dean now allocates up to $1,500 on a highly competitive basis to help offset some of the costs (i.e. equipment, supplies, etc.) that might be associated with your ROP project.  You may apply for funding once your ROP project recieves final approval using the ROPAPP.

The application and approval process is entirely online.  Log into the ROPAPP to submit project proposal(s) directly for approval; Be re-directed to the ROPAPP here. Students also have access to the ROPAPP and will be able to view your approved project(s) and apply directly online.  The ROPAPP allows you greater flexibility and ease of use.  If you see that your department is not currenlty offering an ROP course, what better way to start a trend!

The deadline to submit your project proposal(s) through the ROPAPP is: Friday, February 10, 2017.

Students will have access to the ROPAPP to view and submit applications beginning: Tuesday, February 14, 2017.
