Online applications are accepted 24 hours a day/7 days a week. If a test module is available but you are not able to apply online, this indicates that online applications are full.

Please read the following information carefully:

  1. For information about the IELTS test, please read the Information for candidates booklet. Photos and finger scans are taken before candidates are tested as a security measure. For more information about your photo and finger scan please review the Information about your photo and finger scan booklet.
  2. When submitting your online application, include the addresses of institutions where you would like additional test results mailed (if applicable).
  3. The copy of your identification page(s) of your valid proof of identity document must be of good quality and clearly show your photo, document number, expiry date and signature
  4. Once you have applied online and submitted your identity documentation you will receive an email which contains a link for you to provide your payment information. You must complete and submit your payment information within 72 hours as seating is limited. Applications are processed on a first come, first served basis. Please note that incomplete applications will be rejected once registration is closed for a test date. Candidates are advised to submit their required documents as soon as possible when their preferred test date is approaching.
  5. Acceptance of applications is NOT guaranteed until candidates submit the completed online application and receive a confirmation email directly from Pending applications will be rejected once the test date becomes full.

Important message about IELTS Service advertisements

Advertisements on a number of social media sites claim to provide services for IELTS test takers, such as registering for IELTS, collection of results and making arrangements for a re-mark of the test. 

We advise all potential IELTS test takers to avoid using such services that are not directly affiliated to IELTS.

You will be able to check your results on on the 13th day after you have taken your test. All IELTS Official test centres will post your Test Report Form to you, or you can pick it up in person, once the result is released. Please contact your nearest IELTS test centre for any support that you may require.
