How does UTM Resident parking work?

  • UTM has designated resident parking in lots P5, P6, P7 & P10

  • The capacities of lots P6, P7 & P10 are very limited (less than 20 spaces each)

  • To be fair, spaces in those lots are allocated via Lottery and per the chart below

  • Families with young children living in residence will be accommodated first

Annual Resident Permits (September 1 – August 31)

Resident P5

Any resident; issued on a first-come, first-served basis

Resident P6

Schreiberwood residents (families with young children accommodated first) *Limited Availability (Assigned via Lottery)

Applicants living in other areas will be considered via lottery if space remains.

Resident P7

Schreiberwood residents ONLY (families with young children accommodated first) *Limited Availability (Assigned via Lottery)

Resident P10

MaGrath Valley residents *Limited Availability (Assigned Via Lottery)

How do I apply?

 

Application Process:

  • Use the “UTM CAS Login” option and login with your UTORid (or JOINid if you haven’t yet activated your UTORid)
  • Update/verify your account details and contact information
  • Click on “Order Permits” and join the waitlist for your desired lot(s)

Lottery Lot Assignment and Permit Distribution :

Monday August 16, 2021;

  • Lottery will be held for lots P5, P6, P7 & P10
  • Notification emails sent to applicants with lot designation, payment instructions, and permit distribution options
  • As of Monday July 19, 2021, residents can start submitting their 2021-2022 Annual Resident parking permit requests online.  All permits will be valid as of September 1, 2021.
  • Applicants will be entered into the lottery for a Resident P5, P6, P7 or P10 parking permit based on their indicated preference
  • All requests must be received by Friday August 13, 2021 in order to be eligible for the lottery
  •  Families with small children living in residence will be accommodated first. Please select the “Families with Small Children” permit type for the lot(s) desired only if this situation applies to you.

Annual Permits (valid September 1 – August 31)

The resident parking permit lottery will take place Monday August 16, 2021 and all residents will be informed of the lottery results via email.  If you are not granted the permit you applied for through the lottery, you will be granted a Resident P5 parking permit. Best efforts will be made to accommodate requests where possible.

Payment Information:

  • Once you have been assigned a permit (per the lottery result notification email), you can login to your account (https://parking.utm.utoronto.ca/) to pay your balance
  • Accepted methods of payment: VISA, MasterCard, American Express and Visa Debit
  • Payment must be made in full to receive your permit 

Permit collection options:

    • Have your permit mailed to your residence; or
    • Curbside pickup at the Parking Office
      • Curbside pickup hours are Monday – Friday 8:30am -11:00am and 12:30pm-3:30pm. Please ensure you follow all signage and physical distancing markers in place. The Alumni House remains closed to the public. All visits will be serviced by an exterior service window (outside)
  • All permits are valid as of September 1, 2021

Resident Permit Refund Policy:  Resident Annual parking permits may be returned to the Parking Office for a pro-rated refund within the first five business days of ANY MONTH.
