Laura is from Helsinki, Finland and attended Turku School of Economics for her undergraduate studies. After participating in an international exchange program in Angers, France, she decided she wanted to extend her international experience doing her masters studies abroad.

Laura has professional experience ranging from a start-up to governmental agencies. She has worked as a PR&Media trainee to promote tourism to Finland, created a social media marketing guide for an IT start-up, and worked with international exports at the French embassy. During her studies, she took part in several extra-curricular activities, combining competitive athletics with extensive volunteer work for her student association. She was awarded a Silver Badge of Merit for her work for the association.

Watching "An Inconvenient Truth" in 2006 was Laura's first step towards studying sustainability. She has always been interested in environmental issues and from a young age, she has encouraged and helped her friends and family to reduce their carbon footprint. By studying sustainability, she wishes to make a concrete impact on the environment and solve social problems.

Outside of her academic and professional life, Laura enjoys traveling, languages, literature, and different kinds of sports. In the future, Laura wishes to work for either an NGO or the sustainability department of an international corporation.
