Neila Doum Vorano


Bachelor of International Developent Studies (Economics), Minor in Political Science and Management • McGill University


Neila graduated from McGill University studying International development, political science and management.  With her multidisciplinary background she learned about sustainability and environmentalism through different lenses, giving her a holistic approach to the subject. During her last semester, she took a sustainability class in strategic management which sparked her interest and convinced her pursue her career in this field.  She wishes to combine her background in international development work and her passion for sustainability in her future endeavors.

Following her graduation, she completed an internship, as a sustainability officer with the City of Montreal where she had a first-hand experience on how to implement a sustainability plan on the municipal level, and how to mobilize the community to take part in it. Neila’s passion for development work also led her to work in Tanzania for 7 month with a Canadian NGO helping local youth develop their business skills as well as raise awareness for environmentalism and sustainable business practices. 

Neila hopes to be apart of Sustainability’s future, more specifically to work towards inclusive solutions that integrates the private sector, the public sector and civil society.
