Jasmine Ruscica graduated from Concordia University’s John Molson School of Business with a Bachelor of Commerce in Management in 2019. During her studies, Jasmine explored business management and the sustainability policy landscape which motivated her to examine the way in which environmental, social and economic principles coalesce to clarify complex issues.
Throughout her studies, Jasmine balanced a full course load, extra-curricular activities and an internship which showcased her strong prioritization, time management and organizational skills. She gained over two years of professional experience at VIA Rail Canada as a sustainability intern where she coordinated and oversaw the sustainability strategy and contributed to the narrative and data content for the annual sustainability report. Throughout her internship, Jasmine introduced new sustainability solutions such as the implementation of a carbon footprint calculator per passenger, internationally recognized certifications, as well as increasing community engagement through a pollinator conservation project in partnership with the David Suzuki Foundation. Jasmine was also an executive member of the Management and Human Resources student association where she collaborated to bridge the gap between the student body and faculty to better student life. Jasmine’s professional, academic and volunteer experience fueled her desire to forge an environmental and more ethical future.
Jasmine enjoys hiking, pottery and a variety of sport activities such as bouldering and swimming. Through the MScSM program, she hopes to provide practical sustainable solutions at an international level across various industries.
