Bio

Seniyah graduated from the National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST) with a Bachelor of Science in Economics. She was always interested in practicing sustainability as much as she could because of her passion and love for the environment, but her interest in the field further increased when she studied courses like Resource Economics and Poverty and Income Distribution. It was then that she realized the discourse of sustainability is not just specific to nature, resources, and the environment, but also to the standard of living and well-being of people across all dimensions.

During her high school days, Seniyah volunteered at the Al-Shifa Eye Trust Hospital, Pakistan that helped the less fortunate with their treatments and surgeries free of cost. Furthermore, she participated in a lot of clean-up drives that focused on picking up litter around the streets of her city. During her final year, Seniyah also volunteered with her cohort in delivering workshops to all-girl public schools for the less fortunate to educate them on Menstrual Health Management in order to tackle the severe period poverty persisting in Pakistan. For her final year dissertation, she worked on Consumer-based Food Waste in Restaurants in Islamabad, Pakistan to understand how much plate waste is created, especially across low-end, medium-end, and high-end restaurants to understand the intersectionality between food wasted across different income levels. This was done in order to recommend useful policies, as those policies that work for high-end restaurants might not work for low-end restaurants. In the long run, Seniyah dreams to open an animal shelter to protect the abuse and mistreatment faced by stray animals in Pakistan.

Seniyah loves to spend time and play with her dogs during her personal time. She also loves to paint, sing, and dance whenever she gets the time in order to de-stress. Her most fond memories are of when she travels to different countries with her parents to learn about all the history and beautiful cultures across the globe.
