Bio

Se Young has completed her bachelor’s degree in English Literature and Language with a double major in Studies of Climate Change. Her courses covered a broad range of topics including climate change science, issues in sustainable development, environmental problems in the 21st century, and the economics of climate change. She also studied at the Asian School of Environment at Nanyang Technological University in Singapore as an exchange student taking courses such as atmospheric pollution & climate change and environmental impact assessment.

Her interest in the environment has led to an internship at the Global Green Growth Institute. During her internship, she was responsible for creating a diagram of regional and global SME-specific resource efficiency initiatives. Her duties also included researching national legislations on climate finance to accumulate knowledge products on the Green Growth Knowledge Platform website, which gathers more than 400,000 visitors annually.

She was also selected by the South Korean Ministry of Environment as part of the Global Environment Leaders Program. Through this program, she received specialized knowledge in the various topics regarding the environment from well-renowned professors across the country. The program also improved her research skills as she had to write and present a research paper with her teammates.

When she’s not devoting herself to academia and work, she engages in athletic pursuits such as windsurfing, boxing, snowboarding, and swimming. She also loves traveling abroad to explore the natural wonders of the world and immerse herself in new cultures and cuisines.
